According to an article on SeattleTimes.com, nearly 1 in every 5 or 6 homes in King County sold for $1 million or more in 2017 – which is up 71% from 2016 where only 1 in every 10 sales were seven figure transactions. Across the nation, the Seattle area has the ninth highest share of million-plus dollar home sales and we’re seeing these prices reach areas that have traditionally been considered “reasonably priced”. Mercer Island and Bellevue still lead the county with their median home prices at $1.5 million and $1.2 million respectively, but even neighborhoods like Renton, Burien and Kent have had some homes clear the million mark.
