Nat Levy at GeekWire.com just published an article titled “More than 100 out-of-town tech companies set up shop in Seattle region, doubling in less than 3 years“. Because of the incredible amount of talent in the area, Seattle has become the Nation’s second best tech market behind San Francisco, with a 33% increase since 2011 in the number of tech jobs available. Bellevue most recently attracted Baidu, the Chinese-language search engine, to the region with plans to open an engineering office for approximately 40 people in its first year in the PNW. With all of this growth in technology, an industry that typically compensates its employees well, it is no surprise that we continue to see an influx of people moving to Seattle, thus putting pressure on our already tight housing inventory.
