Based on the sales stats of single family homes in September, it seems the heated craze of the summer buying season may have cooled down a bit as we head into fall – but we use the term “cool” lightly. The number of homes for sale on Capitol Hill remained consistent with what we saw in August but there were slightly fewer closed sales. Considering August saw one of the largest peaks in sales in the last 15 months thought, we aren’t really surprised to see a slight dip. It is still a seller’s market with only 1.3 months of inventory available based on closed sales and sellers, on average, received 100% of their asking price.
